 
Ramtha was from Lemuria. As a Lemurian he was one of a highly spiritual people. At the age of l4, he became a conqueror who freed his people from Atlantean tyranny. Ramtha became the greatest of all warriors. Over the course of 63 years, he conquered two-thirds of the then-known world. Traces of this march can be found in the remnants of ancient traditions: the great warrior was later to become "Rama" of the Hindu religion, the first god of the people of India. Late in his march, he was the recipient of a brutal assassination attempt. During his seven-year recovery process, he learned the mysteries of the unknown god and became enlightened. As a result of his enlightenment, he ascended in front of his people, promising his return.
Ramtha has been commonly referred to in the media as a 35,000 year-old warrior from the lost continent of Atlantis, who from 1978 to the present has channeled through JZ Knight. JZ had her first encounter with this extraordinary being in her Tacoma kitchen on the Sunday afternoon of February 20, 1977. Thus began a long and enigmatic relationship in which the very physical JZ and the spiritual being, Ramtha, combined to bring a message of human divinity to the world.
 JZ Knight is the founder and president of Ramtha's School of Enlightenment, the president of JZK, Inc. and the chairman of JZ Knight Humanities Foundation. She is the sole channeler for Ramtha. In May 1988, at Ramtha's request, JZ founds Ramtha's School of Enlightenment: The American Gnostic School. The school was started in Snow Mountain Colorado. Ramtha introduce a dynamic breath technique called Consciousness & Energy™. He also introduced quantum physics to the students, initiating what was later to become a synthesis of science and spirituality.
Weekend and weeklong workshops and retreats enable students to integrate teachings with personal experiences. Ramtha introduces disciplines and provides hands-on training for such mind-over-matter exercises as remote viewing, field exercises, and the labyrinth.
